Many horses, especially whites and grays, LOVE to roll in the muddiest, nastiest and dirtiest spots they can find normally watching them roll makes us laugh but what about when they roll the day before a show? Not laughing now huh? Well I have a few quick tricks to help you out!
Cornstarch is great to brush into “white” tails as a quick solution before you go in the show ring!
Purple shampoo is one of the most used products! I know why would you want your white horse purple? But something about the shampoo helps make them whiter!
Show sheen whitener is another common one. It comes in a spray bottle that makes it easy to carry and use!
Cowboy magic green-spot remover is the best green-spot remover I have found!
White chalk is great for covering small spots that don't want to come out
Tail bags. Simple right? All you have to do is put it on a white tail and it should stay white as long as your horse doesn't get it off somehow.
Mane bags. Just like tail bags!
Socks are great! They go on over your horse's white socks to keep them clean. A lot of people ride in the warm up ring with them one to keep them clean before their actual rounds!
I hope that this was helpful for you and your horse to ease the stress about not being spotless white. Make sure your horse(s) don't have any allergies to ingredients in any of the above. Stay safe and have fun!
